Lara Stone for Louis Vuitton Spring/Summer 2010 Fashion Ad Campaign

Featuring model Lara Stone shot by Steven Miesel, the Spring-Summer 2010 Womens Louis Vuitton ad campaign turns the spotlight back on models. After a two-season stint with Madonna, Louis Vuitton is returning to models for its ads.

“After our successful collaboration with Madonna, we are very happy to be working once again with Steven Meisel on the Louis Vuitton Spring/Summer 2010 fashion campaign,” says Artistic Director Marc Jacobs. “Because the collection loosely took its cues from the idea of the New Age traveler, we decided to create a green, outdoorsy set that would evoke a spirit of peace and love. To model the clothes, we wanted a modern, iconic, sexy beauty… It had to be Lara Stone.”

Inspired by Bridget Bardot, Lara poses in a bed of moss and ferns while surrounded by white doves. It’s a tranquil setting that makes the Louis Vuttion Spring/Summer 2010 collection stand out with Lara looking like a little girl lost in the woods.
“It was a wonderful shoot,” Jacobs continued. “Doves were flying, the atmosphere was sexy and magical, and the result is a set of images that are desirable, colorful, whimsical and, of course, luxurious.”

“We decided to work with the very sexy and beautiful, glamorous and young Lara Stone,” said Marc, “who we’re very happy to have the chance to work with on this campaign… Lara is the modern and iconic sexy beauty, who I think the Vuitton customers will relate to and want to be and want to look like.”

The Louis Vuitton Spring/Summer 2010 ad campaign will break in the February 2010 issues of magazines worldwide.

Ankle High, Knee High & Thigh High Socks

Socks are in Vogue for winter 2009! Whether thick or thin they have become not only a respectable mode of fashion but desirable as well. How does one integrate this look to fit your style? Here are some explanations and suggestions:

Ankle-high is the Lolita-school-girl look. It can be worn as little white socks, some fringe, some lace, froufrou etc. But be careful how you wear your total ensemble since you don’t want it to look like a costume or an ill-fated attempt to look younger. “Want some candy lil’ girl?”. Better to wear more fluid colors, original fabric, metallic tones to give yourself a more edgy look perfect for a night on the town.

Under the knee: This is the most common height but also the most treacherous, soccer player syndrome. Better to incorporate it with tights or leggings and slide the socks down to your ankles like an accordeon.

Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta is the most polarizing musician in the mainstream right now. Better known as Lady Gaga, you either love her or hate her. To Lady Gaga, being sexy isn’t something stated in the books. Unlike many other artists who get their stylist to do the dressing up and coming up with a certain theme, GaGa has a different approach. Even while writing her music, Gaga already pictures what she wants to wear on stage.
