The First Lady Michelle Obama attended the first State Dinner at the White House held (Nov.24th) in honor of Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and his wife Gursharan Kaur. She looked amazing and glamorous in a strapless gold dress by Indian-American designer Naeem Khan.
Though she’s become known for her high-fashion risk-taking, Mrs.Obama chose a dress with a classic floor-length cut in a subdued gold fabric and paired it with a light shawl. Mrs. O reports:
“The strapless gown features hand cut sterling silver sequins sewn on nude silk chiffon, which create an abstract floral pattern. The dress is entirely handmade, requiring three weeks of work by 40 people, completed in Naeem Kahn’s family workshop in India.”
